I’m Ratu Marutle, professionally known as Beloved—a multidisciplinary artist and mystic, curating and working across music, film, and interior styling. My name, Beloved, reflects both the English translation of my South African name, Ratu, and my artistic philosophy, inspired by the teachings of Sufi mystic Hazrat Inayat Khan:
the Beloved is the source and goal of life, experienced in the movement of beauty, achieved through the harmony of sound and color.

Through an eclectic lens, I integrate sound, color, and movement to craft immersive experiences that invite people into liminal spaces—where paradox, multiplicity, and time converge. My work is deeply rooted in my Black American and South African heritages, exploring themes of identity, ancestry, belonging, time, transformation, and the connections between seemingly different worlds.

My dynamic, eclectic style is a fusion of the ethereal and the earthy, the playful and the introspective. Honoring both the ancient and the future, I create a rich interplay of contrasts that evoke emotion, curiosity, humor, and introspection. Through my work, I hope to foster a space for a direct connection with the divine in all its beautiful forms.
